The Regal GS Sportback will be here eventually to duke it out with the Stinger GT over which ignored car brand (because I’m guessing the Stinger GT won’t be a strong seller) will have the better red all-wheel drive V6 liftback thing.

If they ever actually release it...

Should be here in 2018. Maybe. Possibly. If they remember.

Hmm, interesting...
I’m due (my family is due, really) to buy a new car soon (probably in 9 months) and I was thinking about the stinger. But then again, I don’t really know what I want
The list of competitors is quite diverse
Chevy bolt (and a motorcycle)
Kia Stinger GT
Ford Fusion Sport
Ford Edge Sport
Jeep Wrangler (base model & a motorcycle).
I think the Buick might make the list.

You forgot the one that will outsell both of those combined:

... is that an RS7 that was modded into GTA V?
![]() 11/19/2017 at 22:09 |

No it’s the new hateful S5 Sportback, which is basically their 440i GC equivalent.

It also appears to be some kind of awful render.

310 hp liftback starting at $39,900 (supposedly), nice! Hopefully the Arteon won’t be too far behind.

It is an atrocious looking render.

You can add me to the list of people who totally forgot what the hell an Arteon was. There sure is a lot of competition for a dying market space.

Here’s a real S5 SPERTBAK.
![]() 11/19/2017 at 22:17 |

I’d probably take one over the S7, but let’s be honest, I’d never buy either.

All the money is in the $25,000 to $50,000 range now so everyone is trying everything they can to be a little bit different now that it’s so crowded.

I’ve given up hope of their being a nice wagon for me to buy in the future, I can only hope Lexus makes a sportback that no one likes so I can swoop in 17 years later.

I imagine wagons will be back at some point, but they’ll all be lifted and have plastic cladding on them.
Just buy a Golf Sportwagoh gods I can’t say that seriously.

We still have Volvo. Stay strong

When in doubt, always pick the Korean car.

Hopefully, because as good as these two looks, the Arteon looks even better. At least in pictures.

and then the BMW 430i will win out only because of its non-ignored badge

And gone again by 2022 because Peugeot will switch Opel to their platform...and China will have moved on to the next shiny thing.

Have now seen both the Stinger and the Arteon in the flesh. Colour me underwhelmed. Especially when the Stinger is Pussy Yellow. Stingray has not visual restraint (chrome, plastic trinkets everywhere) while the Arteon is cookie cutter VW (aka Germanic mid Noughties Camry) in the looks department.

Man. I miss the CC. Those were beautiful.

That’s a new one I thought I’d never hear.

That’s an old rendering from a while back.
the S5 on sale is somewhat different.

You could move or wait 25 years I guess.

European is more the in thing now for this segment and up.
Korean is more the smaller hatch segment.
